Well, what a journey. My son gave me his 2000 Jeep Cherokee when he bought a new car. For me to transfer the Jeep into my name, it had to pass a smog check (even though it had been through one the previous year ... that's California for you). The codes it was popping were P0300, P0301, P0306. So, we took it into Pep Boys to see if they could figure it out. They couldn't, so they tried swapping the fuel injectors around. They reset the codes and I drove it for 122 miles. I pulled in and the only code that was showing was an intermittent P0303 (but didn't activate the check engine light). He told me to take it to the smog place. I did and as soon as they pulled it into the bay, the check engine light came on. Back to Pep Boys I went. They finally found a service bulletin that addressed multiple misfires NUMBER: 09-003-03 (http://www.wjjeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wj_090.... They said they would check, I said o.k. and then my husband found this one NUMBER: 18-031-03 (http://www.wjjeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wj_180...) that addresses and issue with the #3 fuel injector and a possible P0303 code. Well, Pep Boys said I needed a valve job (starting at $1600), so I told them to put the Jeep back together. We went to Lodi Jeep and bought two cans ($8 each) of Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner (Part Number 04318001AB) and an Ignition Wire Shield (Part Number 56028371AA). This video is what we did right (and wrong) and our results. Probably still need that valve job (or just buy a new head) but I have two years to worry about that! I also fixed the back latch:    • Best way to open stuck hatch on Jeep ...
